They are out of the box and only used on one job site. They both have ZERO scratches or wear. One is non evasive(pin-less) and the other is evasive (pins) These are commercial units purchased in mid 2015. You can test bunch of different materials with these units; 1. Drywall 2. Concrete 3. Soft wood 4. Hard wood 5. Carpet 6. Underpad 7. other materials as long as you follow the moisture charts. Additional info: 1. DIGITAL NON EVASIVE Moisture Meter #1 This is non evasive sensor meter which probes the object without physically penetrating it. It can not read RH or air moisture #s. Moisture detector measures potential conditions for mould growth. Pinless design eliminates surface damage to material. It is easy to read digital display provides accurate moisture readings in percentages. Plus you can select from 4 measurement modes: drywall, masonry, softwood and hardwood oh and it measures up to 1/2" (1.3 cm) in depthumbers. Meter shows measurements of moisture in %. 2. EVASIVE Moisture Meter #2 This is evasive sensor meter which probes the object with physically penetrating it. Detects level of moisture in building products 9V battery operated (not included) Uses electrical resistance technology Pin-type, non-insulated electrodes/probe pins meter Simple four LED indicated system alerts users to possible moisture problems and battery status Detects only wood moisture content percentages: 7-25%, with accuracy +/-5% moisture content ADDITIONAL INFO ON MOISTURE METERS BOTH moisture meters can be used to detect water leaks around windows or doors of a house. You can make multiple readings around the window or door. For example, you can take readings on a rainy day and compare it to a non-rainy day.
