Up for sale is this NEC, 100 Watt, Ku band TWTA complete with power supply and interconnecting cables. This equipment was removed from a TV broadcast station where it was used for uplinking program via a 6.5 meter dish. The power used in this application was around 5 watts, well below the design power of 100 watts with a 3dB backoff for -26dBc spectral regrowth. The internal TWT is in as new state with only 1.25mA helix current and 150mA cathode current. Requires approx. -20 to -15dBm drive level. Operation is very simple with illuminated membrane switches on the power supply to select LV & heater on and a second switch to select HV on after a preset warm up delay. It is not possible to select HV on until the warm up delay has expired. RF output is controlled via a vernier dial on the RF unit and the actual power is displayed on a meter on the RF unit. RF power is available on the rear of the RF unit via a WR75 waveguide flange. A sample of the RF output is available on the front panel of the RF unit via a SMA female connector. The sample output level is -50dBc The RF unit and power supply has been thoroughly serviced cleaned and checked for correct operation and is guaranteed operational. The unit has been fully tested into a load for quite a few hours without any problems I have a matching NEC Ku band linearizer available for sale also.( see my other items) Using the linearizer, an output power of 75 watts for -26dBc can be achieved.
