To use your UltraCure PRO Plus™ ultra sound machine, it is critical that transmission gel be used to allow the sound waves to penetrate into the body. For How Long & Often Do You Treat? During ultrasound treatment, use your home machine for 5-15 minutes (shorter treatments for minor pains & body areas with thin tissue, such as the wrist or elbow, and longer treatments for severe, chronic injuries & thick-tissued body areas, such as the back or hamstring). For the first 2-3 weeks, it is generally recommended to use therapeutic ultrasound machines once or twice daily, per body part. As the pain lessons, the frequency of your ultrasound therapy sessions can be decreased to 3-4 days per week. Even after the pain is gone, though, we recommend that you continue ultrasound applications with the Ultra Cure PRO Plus™ physical therapy machine once or twice a week to ensure that the pain doesn’t recur. What Does It Feel Like? You will feel no sensation from the ultrasound waves of the UltraCure PRO Plus™ during ultrasound therapy. However, during treatment, there is a chance you may feel a slight warming on your skin where the ultrasound is being applied. The UCPro Plus Ultrasound comes with a FREE* 4 oz Jar of Sombra Gel. Sombra Gel is a topical analgesic (pain-relieving gel) with natural anti-inflammatory ingredients, such as Menthol (5%), Camphor (3%), Capsaicin, Aloe Vera, Orange Peel and Green Tea Extracts. Using Sombra Gel as your ultrasound gel will enhance your ultrasound treatments through phonophoresis. Phonophoresis is the use of ultra sound waves to push pain-relieving compounds deep into the tissue. Delivering pain relief right where you need it the most! Any high-quality ultrasound gel will work with the UltraCure Pro Plus.
