The UNAXOL series of water-based wood lacquers represent a breakthrough in coatings technology where it is now possible to replace and exceed conventional solvent-based paints in terms of specific performance parameters. Unlike traditional water-based systems, the UNAXOL consists of modified polysiloxane resin that imparts excellent hardness, water resistance, leveling and gloss to the resultant dry film. The UNAXOL match solvent-based lacquers in terms of drying/curing ability and the former is actually superior in terms of water resistance. Dry films of the UNAXOL can resist boiling water for prolonged periods of exposure without blushing. In addition, the UNAXOL can overcome the problem of grain raising that is typical of water-based coatings on wooden substrates. UNAXOL cures at ambient temperature and does not require additional heat curing. UNAXOL topcoats are supplied in two versions, gloss and satin. The UNAXOL sanding sealer is used as the prime coat to smoothen and prevent grain raising at the surface of the wood. The topcoats, when applied by brush, spray or roller accordingly, provide surfaces that are extremely smooth. Hence high levels of gloss can be achieved with the Gloss Topcoat. The UNAXOL is suitable for all climates and wood substrates and can be applied at temperatures ranging from 5?C to 50?C. UNAXOL is formulated to be environmentally friendly and are free from conventional toxins like heavy metals, azo, aromatic solvents, formaldehyde, isocyanate and polyvinyl chloride. The total volatile organic content (TVOC) of the UNAXOL is in compliance with environmental regulations. Hence UNAXOL is suitable to be applied in public areas (hospitals, hotels, restaurants etc.) where low odour and toxicity of the wet paint are the required properties. UNAXOL provides a unique balance of properties that enables it to be used very effectively on wood substrates. The transformation of water-based wood coatings from solvent-based systems is thus complete with the UNAXOL. In short, UNAXOL is the solution to wood coatings!
