 You will receive an Antique Underwood Standard Typewriter No 5 Chicago Mechanical Writing Machine 1914. 728917 serial number. I am not an expert, but I learned how to type on a manual typewriter, so I am familiar with the functions and smoothness of this machine. All keys and hammers move smoothly and return to their original position however some not all the way (need adjusting probably... this doesn't effect them working at all. The bell rings at the end of a row, paper spindle rotates smoothly and all levers and handles move throughout. It needs a new ribbon and has the black/red option. There is dust throughout and the usual scuffs and scrapes on the paint from normal wear and tear. I suggest the purchaser take it in for a professional cleaning, lubrication and refurbishing. Carefully view pictures to fully determine condition.
