The optics in the SL-1400 Slit Lamp are ideal for technologically advanced imaging systems. An optional beamsplitter will allow you to illustrate pathology using digital and video imaging systems when these tools are in position. The dual port beamsplitter also allows an assistantscope to be attached.        Magnification Selection Dial Luxvision’s SL-1400 Slit Lamp gives you the power to select from five steps of magnification—from 6x up to 40x—simply by twisting a single knob. Changing an eyepiece is not required. Using the conveniently located knob, operators can choose from total magnification ratios equivalent to 6x (?33mm), 10x (?22.5mm), 16x (?14mm), 25x (?8.8mm), 40 (?5.5mm). Fine adjustments can also be made to the PD and optical correction.  Two Fixation Target Options The SL-1400 offers two options with respect to fixation targets. One is for diopter adjustment to help the patient to see the target clearly while the other is an illuminated fixed spot. The fixation target with diopter compensation supplies a dot and concentric circles target. Operators simply slide the knob to adjust the diopter compensation within the range from -15D to +10D. The fixation target with spot light is especially well suited to patients with refractive errors exceeding -15D.  Wide Field of View with a Range of PD and Diopter Adjustment Luxvision’s SL-1400 Galilean optical system delivers an exceptionally wide field of view of ?33mm, ?22.5mm, ?14mm, ?8.8mm, and ?5.5mm, with a 55mm-75mm range of PD adjustment and -5D to +3D diopter adjustment.  High Clarity Luminance and Built-in Filters The SL-1400 utilizes a 12-volt, 30-watt high luminance halogen bulb to provide bright illumination and outstanding clarity. By shifting the unit’s filter selection lever, you can easily select from four built-in Illumination Pathway Filters. Options include a heat absorption filter that aids in patient comfort during lengthy exams, a red-free filter that enhances structural contrast, a cobalt blue filter for use in fluorescein assessment, and a grey filter. When indirect retro-illumination is needed, you can easily deflect the illumination light using the unit’s well-placed controls. In addition, the SL-1400 features a diffusion lens for enlarging the illumination field as well as for observation and photography at low magnificat.  Continuous Slit Rotation and Aperture Adjustment The SL-1400 features 2/3x slit projection magnification and enables users to modify slit width continuously from 0mm to 9mm using an easy-to-adjust knob. The slit becomes a circle at 9mm. A helpful scale on the knob indicates the width value. The seven available aperture diameters are ?9mm, ?8mm, ?5mm, ?3mm, ?2mm, ?1mm, and ?0.2mm. The slit height, which is indicated in a display window, also can be changed continuously, from 1mm to 8mm. Using precise movements and controls, operators can swing the main body of the slit horizontally to revolve the slit image at any angle in the vertical or horizontal direction, from 0° to 180°. Another helpful scale indicated the angle of image rotation. Four steps of slit inclination—5°, 10°, 15°, 20° — also are available for oblique illumination in contact lens evaluations. . Integrated Multidirectional Joystick Maneuver the SL-1400 with ease using the intuitive multidirectional joystick. Precision adjustments are at your fingertips by simply turning and tilting the joystick. The base operation of the SL-1400 offers the following movements: forward and back movement to 90mm; left and right movement to 100mm, fine movement to15mm and vertical movement to 30mm. Once you achieve the proper alignment, the base can be locked to prevent sliding.  Fundus Observation Unlike standard slit lamp units, Luxvision’s SL-1400 also allows for a dilated examination of the fundus and the posterior segment of the vitreous body using a Hruby Lens with the unit’s Hruby Lens Holder and Hruby Lens Guide Plate. Tonometry and Other Accessories Luxvision’s SL-1400 slit lamp can be equipped with the TN-150 applanation tonometer or the Haag-Streit AG Model R-900 or Model T-900 applanation tonometer for measuring intraocular pressure. The unit’s accessories mount also allows you to attach other accessories, including photography and video accessories. In addition, you can replace the standard eyepieces with 12.5x measuring eyepieces that include reticules for measurement of length and angle.
