Opportunity: There are over 1billion computer users worldwide.  Most of these users have at least one mouse pad and know what it feels like to have a repetitive strain injury from using their computer.  The Mobile Mousepad is the only mouse pad that is convenient, easy to use, and allows the user to sit in a relaxed ergonomic position when using a computer mouse and can be used anywhere. The Mobile Mousepad was invented by a computer user who had shoulder and wrist problems from using the computer 8 to 10 hours a day. He decided to start placing the mouse on his lap to get relief from the stress of using the mouse on the desk all day.  It was found to be a very comfortable ergonomic position when doing large cut and paste jobs or surfing the internet.  This led to the invention of the Mobile Mousepad. The specially designed tacky surface allows the user to park the mouse and return to the keyboard.  The tacky surface allows it to conform to the user’s leg.  The Mobile Mousepad could easily replace the current mouse pad style.  It has the advantage that it can work anywhere giving lap top users the freedom to continue to use their mouse when they are on the go, whether they are at school or a cafe, the Mobile Mousepad is the last mouse pad you will ever need.  Problem:   Thousands of people, have wrist and shoulder problems from using the computer or more specifically the mouse. I made a mouse pad that works great on your leg which is a very natural ergonomic position.  The unique design of the mouse pad allows it to be used anywhere. It reduces hand, wrist, arm, and shoulder discomfort also know as Repetitive Strain Injury or Carpel Tunnel Syndrome.  It allows computer users to use their mouse in airports, school desks, or cafes when a normal size work surface is not available. The Mobile Mousepad allows a user to change their hand position from on top of their desk to their lap, providing a valuable option to the user and a reduced number of worker compensation claims against employers. The Mobile Mousepad could easily become a required ergonomic accessory provided to all employees to reduce repetitive strain injury.  Benefits: Are you on the go? You don’t always have the perfect surface—or the room—to effectively use your mouse. The Mobile Mousepad is the go anywhere, use anywhere mouse pad. Simply rest the Mobile Mousepad on your leg, and you have a comfortable, convenient place to use your mouse regardless if you are at work, in the classroom, at the airport, the local coffee shop, or surfing the web in your lounge chair at home. The innovative design of the Mobile Mousepad allows it to easily cling to any fabric or surface while providing a wide mouse surface for optimal performance. The unique design allows the mouse to stay on the pad while your hands move back to the key board. It works great everywhere, even on a boat’s chart table it will keep your mouse right where you parked it without having the mouse sliding off the table.  It’s really the last mouse pad you will need!  Doable: This product is absolutely doable.  There is already a market. I have had major retailers interested in having it on their shelves.  It is an inexpensive item to manufacture and sale. Depending on the quantity it can be manufactured for under a dollar and sold for under ten dollars. Because it has a huge advertising area on it, it can be used as a giveaway product or sold in retail stores.  The basic design can be altered for holidays or company advertisements.  Competition: The Mobile Mousepad has been issued a very broad patent that protects anyone from using a flexible mouse pad design on the leg.  There several competitors selling products that use a rigid mouse surface that rests on the leg either with straps or a bean bag.  All of these are large and cumbersome and more expensive to manufacture.
