VARIAN EXPERIMENTAL REFLEX KLYSTRON MICROWAVE TUBE This note comes with the tube:      This reflex klystron is designed to plug into a waveguide, but power is      coupled through a mica-sealed aperture in the resonant cavity, rather      than through a coaxial line as in the 2K25.  Objective of this design      approach is to ruggedize the tube, so that it can operate stably in a severe      environment.  This is an experimental tube, built at Varian Associates      in San Carlos [CA] in about 1952.  Refined versions of this design have      been extensively used in sever environments.                                                                                T.
