What is art? Art is what is perceived to be! inspiring, uplifting, creative, a pleasure to admire, a pleasure to own, and a willingness after you own it and displayed in your place......to brag about it! There have been many attempts at merging art and functionality in espresso machines before with various degrees of success, but I think this time we definitely have a winner in many respects. The city of birth of this magnificent sculpture is synonymous with coffee, as is its name "Vela" which means "Sail".Yes Naples has a long history of association with the sea. Here comes "Ventum" that from the Latin word for wind describes well the intentions put forth in this new machine. To start with when front is shaped like a sail in a sailboat and the lever that glides upward during the brewing of an espresso reminds of the "art of espresso" that started here in Naples several decades ago and still commands respect worldwide. No other pace in the world comes even close to offer the kind of espresso you can get in this ancient city.The most important part of this machine is that is a "Lever machine" and as such only a small fraction of people in the world appreciate it for what it does but the art part of it can be appreciated by a lot more.I don't know when in the future another espresso machine will come close to bring art,functionality and performance together as this one does but you are able to acquire one now before the "Museum of modern art" in New York will put one on display there.
