The printer has a frame made of polycarbonate panels and fibre-reinforced molded ABS parts, which makes it sturdy and long-lasting. Using Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF) technology, this printer can produce high-quality prints with ease. It has a standard layer resolution of 0.1 mm, a build plate of 215 x 240 mm, and a build volume of 180 x 200 x 190 mm. The Velleman K8400 VERTEX 3D PRINTER comes with one nozzle with a diameter of 0.35mm, and a second nozzle is optional. The maximum nozzle operating temperature is 270 В°C. The firmware of the printer is a Modified Open Source Marlin 3D Printer, which is user-upgradable. The software includes Repetier, CuraEngine, and Slic3r, all of which are RepRap compatible. This printer has a removable layer of BuildTakв„ў on the build plate surface, which is a consumable that can also be sold separately. It has a filament diameter of 1.75 mm and accepts all filament spools with a mounting hole of 53 mm. The printer supports open filament policy and can print PLA, ABS, and other materials.
