For your consideration, I have this Victoreen Instrument Company CDV-715 Model 1A radiological survey meter. This survey meter was manufactured for the United States Government, Office of Civilian Defense to be distributed to municipalities for use in radioactive fallout shelters during the Cold War. This particular unit came from the Maricopa County Department of Emergency Management in Arizona. Cosmetically this unit is in good used condition. There are chips scratches or rub marks in the paint. There has been no internal corrosion from leaking batteries. Please view all of the photos. I have function tested this unit the best I could. When switched to circuit check it checks out as it should in the circuit check range on the meter. The zero adjustment works. When switch to each range selection the meter needle moves up slightly and slowly back to zero. I have no way to fully function test this unit. This unit requires a highly radioactive source to do a proper function test. It should be calibrated for accurate use. This meter is not for measurement of low level radiation. This unit is for the measurement of high level gamma radiation only. It reads in roentgens per hour (R/hr). This unit requires one size D battery to operate. The battery and shoulder strap are not included. This item will ship in a medium United States Postal Service Priority Mail Flat Rate box. Please let me know if you have any questions.
