This auction is for a vintage geiger counter, the Detectron DG-7 from the late 1940s, as shown in photos above. After WWII, people were fascinated by atomic energy. They bought these units and went prospecting for uranium. Detectron, in North Hollywood California was one of the first companies to capitalize on this massive public interest. The DG-7 uses an electronic HV supply, rather than the HV batteries used in previous designs. This unit is serial number 755678-SE. It includes the original probe with adjustable beta shield. I am selling this unit AS-IS, for parts or display. There is some corrosion inside and on the clip for holding the probe, all as shown in the photos. This DG-7 still has all the original parts, including the three 1U5 tubes and the HV regulator tube. It comes with the original brochure/spec sheet. There is a calibration tag attached to the probe clip, also a little metal piece that may be a test sample. If you have questions, please ask before bidding.
