This is a vintage Decter mannequin from their Profile Juniors collection dating from around 1967 to 1968. This mannequin has all the original parts and she is unique because it is getting very difficult to find a vintage mannequin that is almost 50 years old with all its original pieces. She has the classic Decter open mouth with teeth which was their signature look from that period and although Decter didn't say who they used as a model to sculpt their mannequins back then, I think this mannequin is sculpted in the image of popular 1960's junior model, Colleen Corby. This mannequin was used in a costume exhibit so areas of her body were refinished with paint that was custom matched to the original skin color and the mannequin has no body damage whatsoever. Her face painting and make-up however is the original 1960's Decter finish because it was preserved to keep the iconic Decter look since the mannequin was used to exhibit vintage 1960's era clothing. This mannequin originally came from a JC Penney store and I believe she was used in their intimates department because her skin is a lighter tone with a slight pinkish cast, which was what the JC Penney used on their intimates mannequins back in the 1960's. Her measurements are also slightly larger which again is an indication that she was used for intimates/lingerie. The mannequin is 69" tall, her measurements are 34" bust, 24" waist and 35" hips, she wear a size 6 dress, size 7 to 7 1/2 shoe with a 2 1/2" heel height. The vintage Decter glass base and butt rod shown in the auction photos will be sold with the mannequin. The clothing, accessories, shoes and wigs are not included with the mannequin.
