Bend on the right side of the book.  Binding: Saddle Stitch You are bidding on one non-fiction book published by the U.S. bureau of Prisons in 1960 showing the construction and details on prisons build in the United States between 1950 and 1960. The book includes major institutions in California, DC, CT, Florida, New Mexico, Pennsylvania, Texas and more along with architectural styles from economical to attractive and functional  to designs built for growing needs.  Also included is a section on honor farms for prisoners, Denver's long out-molded jail and the then proposed Rikers. The few foreign institutes included are Ontario, England and Swedens youth prison.   The book includes many photos and drawings from close ups of prison rooms, to aerial shots seeing the total picture. It also includes the original typed receipt from the UNITED STATES DEPT OF JUSTICE-FEDERAL PRISON INDUSTRIES dated 11-6-61. This book has a soft cover and is saddle stitched. The inside is printed in black and white on gloss stock.  The book does show aging, but mainly on the covers. Besides a bend on the bottom right of the book, the inner pages are in very good condition. It measures 9" x 12". If you have questions, just ask. This comes from a non-smoking home. Thanks!
