SWEET LARGE CIGAR, PIPE , CIGARETTE ASH TRAY The Hoffman Specialty Manufacturing Company was founded in 1913 by George D. Hoffman with the introduction of the Hoffman No. 1 Automatic Siphon Air Vent Valve for steam radiators.  If you are an anniversary Ashtray Collector you might want that information. The company celebrated it's 50th Anniversary in 1963 in Indianapolis, Indiana.   If you are familiar with the company you know it was acquired by ITT Industries in 1970, becoming part of the Fluid Handling Division in 1974. I have never seen a 9" diameter ashtray with Brass  Medallion as beautiful as this one.  The actual perimeter color around the bluish green center is more of an olive green than the mustard color in the pictures.  The sun plays with the colors and I tried many different settings. The inside and bottom is a deep bluish green.  This is a wonderful collectible if you now work for ITT or are familiar with Hoffman Specialty Product Line.  They are known for designing, producing and marketing the highest quality products.  In excellent condition with no chips, breaks or cracks.  It is large enough to be used for something other than an ashtray.  I could not find another anywhere on-line.
