Vintage 1970's Era Plastic/Metal Norton Industrial Steampunk "Welding Goggles": Very cool vintage 1970's era plastic/metal Norton industrial steampunk "Welding Goggles." The item is in excellent working condition for its age. Made completely of a burgundy colored hard plastic material for the main part of the goggles, they are free of any cracks, chips, or major imperfections. Minor flaws are present form age & use in the form of dirt & staining as well as small defects, but do not take away from this piece at all. The goggles are semi-flexible to fit the wearer's head & are held together by a metal bar above the lenses as well as a tension strap which is adjustable for the wearers nose. The lenses screw off the piece & are are made up of a dark tinted glass piece on the inside, a metal ring which fit in between, & a clear outer lens which shows some wear. The sides of the goggles are fitted with 2 black metal colored plates which are identical & read, "Norton Cran., R.I. U.S.A Type B." Lastly, the original adjustable rubber strap is present & in great shape, as well as the inner foam nose guard. Altogether makes for a great gift for collectors. Please see pictures for condition issues. Measurements: 2.5 inches in H, 6.80 inches in L, & 2.90 inches in D. Weighs approx. 5.1 ounces (less than a pound). Makes a great addition to an already existing collection of vintage welding masks or accessories. As well makes for a great costume prop for cosplayers or steampunk enthusiasts. Would look great on display on a mannequin head (not included) in a mancave, garage, as a movie prop, etc. Always a conversation piece!
