HP 7580b plotter that I was trying to turn into a vinyl cutter a while back. I couldn't figure out how to get the software to run it, so I bought an actual cutter. The plotter still works, or at least did, I did a confidence test with it a few times and all was fine, except the pens are about out of ink (maybe all the way out of ink by now). Someone wrote that you can refill them using India ink, but I'm not sure if that is only black. Also, one of the caster wheels is  missing, so it sits a little uneven unless propped up under that foot (you could maybe replace the wheels for a couple $). I have a replacement, but it is a bit  smaller than the originals. I bought a special cable (I think because of the age of this machine, you need a special cable to connect it to modern PCs) for it that you can have if I still have it. There's a cable connected to it now, but not sure if that was the stock cable or the 'special' one I bought. Here is a link describing how to convert this machine into a vinyl cutter: cnczone.com/forums/printing-scanners-vinyl-cutting-and-plotters/103997-using-7580b-plotter-cut-vinyl.html You could give it a try, or just use it as it is after inking up the pens.  It may be useful to just get some parts out of it as well, the motors and such.  This thing was like $15,000-$20,000 when it came out, maybe even worth buying to scrap as it may have some gold components inside, I don't know.
