Present your best items with Auctiva's FREE Scrolling Gallery.  Circa 1950's to early 1970's Wooden Signature Block Routed Out of One Piece of Wood! Used Prior to Cold Type Era. This vintage item was used it the printing and rubber stamp industry for printing signatures. The reverse of a signature was placed on a block of wood with a scope type device. Then the signature was routed out in the wood. It was in reverse so it wood print correctly. A printer could use it in a letterpress printer. Stamp makers would use this block to make a matrix mold and then make a rubber die out of the mold. This rubber die could be used as a signature facsimile stamp or a die for a signature printing machine. This Particular Block was for  Loretta Bennett.
