This is a used Analog Devices 40J block amplifier. I forget where I got this or pulled it from so I built a inverting amp demonstration circuit to see if it works. Apparently it still does. The demo is showing a simple inverting amplitude (voltage) gain, however the 40J is internally configured for current gain applications. It does not have an externally accessible common pin. This is an old vintage piece made in the days before IC's op amps. It was made to be used in applications with block amplifier sockets. Thanks for looking!
