Berkel Model 7 U.S. is the second-largest produced at the U.S. Slicing Machine La Porte Indiana, and uses many features of the U.S. Berkel model B. The U.S. Berkel mod. 7 is driven by a flywheel closed with a diameter of 294 mm. decal with the words in U.S. Slicing Machine Co La Porte Ind. and was produced in red and green, the metal parts were originally chrome. The U.S. Berkel mod. 7 has a total of 750 mm. length 550 mm. width and 530 mm. height and needs a support of 210 mm. width 420 mm. Berkel U.S model 7 has a total length weighs 63 kg. HISTORY: This is the name of the inventor of the best slicers in the world (in the foreground in the picture below) born on 02.05.1869 in Enschot (Netherlands) and died on 12.11.1952 in Montreux (Switzerland). W.A. van Berkel was a butcher who for years sought to combine his job as a butcher and his passion for mechanics. One day Berkel had the idea to build a machine that would facilitate the task of cutting the cured meat into thin slices. He experimented for months and often the attempt was about to fail, but in the end his patience was rewarded. Finally, after painstaking efforts, he put together two ideas, simple but ingenious: a concave blade, which precisely reproduces the hand / knife movement and a moving plate that slides towards the blade.
