Here is a recent auction finds and I have no idea what application it was used on. I believe it is a motor speed controller for a vintage engine, maybe a solid set industrial type motor used in a manufacturing plant or refinery. It is in good used condition, no brakes in the brass. It has two spring loaded locking arms with thumb pushes, one marked spark the other one gas, that move over a series of half circle brass notches. The notched plates have two marks on them on either side, retard and advance. I see no mfg. looks like the name has been worn off on front. It is mounted in a wooden frame, maybe for display, can’t tell you. It has a few scratches and the spring catch on the gas arm doesn’t have the small metal piece that locks into the notches, everything else looks good.
