This radiation meter came directly out of a Civil Defense crate originally filled with emergency goods. The cardboard box holding it is dated Dec 1956. Likely stored in a high school basement as survival equipment. It was still in it's original cardboard box and meter has CD logo on side. It also comes with plastic shoulder strap and original instruction booklet. Although it appears in excellent condition, it does not fire up and is offered only as a piece of history during a time when America was obsessed with the threat of nuclear holocaust. Weighs 3 +pounds. I also have the original Civil Defense crate and  other vintage Civil Defense pieces  listed so please visit my eBay store. Shipping quote is for mainland USA.
