Thank you for your interest. Don't hesitate to ask any questions! It operates similarly to a Lewis winch and has a bar that hooks onto rear bolt holes, and a central lever to engage the drive wheel. Moving the lever to the right allows for freewheeling, while shifting it to the left locks the sprocket and enables the drive wheel. The vintage chainsaw winch available for sale is in good condition and was likely an aftermarket brand in the past. Although the winch works adequately, the back chain has around six inches of rigid chain that may need some cleaning or WD40 to loosen up. The brake lever is situated at the front, and there are small notches in the lever to keep it in place. It is necessary to customize a bar to match one's saw, but most clients have reported successful outcomes with this product.
