This vintage Engraved Copper Printing Plate is an advertisement for Young Cole of California. Cole of California designed and manufactured women's clothing, Young Cole designed for little girls. Cole is best known for their swimsuits, Designer Margit Fellegi was well-known for her "Scandal Suit". The copper plate depicts a curly haired young girl dressed in striped slacks and solid overblouse. The plate is signed "THACA ENG.CO., INC." "ITHACA N.Y." "503" and a logo. The design appears to be signed near the girls foot but the signature is not decipherable. There are two small holes that are probably orientation marks. The text of the plate reads: l g n ... the word for Young Cole So chic...so feminine...so simply elegant in her Young Cole coordinates...a work of art in Electroknit polished cotton jersey... by Margit Fellegi. From our Trapeze Collection of coordinates and separates... at better stores everywhere with the logo: Young Cole of California Los Angeles Dallas New York and: trapeze overblouse and slacks set 3 - 6x 8.95 set 7 - 14 10.95 The plate, which measures approximately 8.5 by 12 inches, is in very good condition. There are no breaks, the two left side corners are turned up. The copper is clean with minimal discoloration - as shown. This unique Vintage Engraved Copper Printing Plate would be a great addition to your Graphic Arts, Advertising or Vintage Fashion collection.
