This is a Columbian vise that I bought from Boeing and restored and repainted.  It has the hard-to-find smooth jaws as you would expect from an aircraft maker.  It's been sitting in my parents' house in Ohio for the past 10 years (and I have plenty of other vises, including a 6" Columbian, at my house), so it's time it goes to a new home. This a model 504-M2 (5 = fixed base; 4 = 4" jaws; M2 = revised version).  This one probably dates to the 1960s and of course is USA-made.  Columbian vises may not be the most stylish, but they are very tough and that's why lots of industries used them.  As befits an aerospace user, this one has smooth jaws and has been reasonably gently used.  Screw turns easily with one finger, and locks down tight.  Pay is minimal (about 1/8 turn).  This vise came from Boeing in medium blue with bits of zinc chromate overspray, so I repainted it in acrylic enamel and went with a darker shade which is pretty close to safety blue. 4" jaw width 6" jaw opening 38 lb weight
