VINTAGE DELTA 6" JOINTER This is a vintage Delta 6" short bed jointer, Model # 37-205, Serial number 31-4822, estimated to be from the late 1940's. The jointer was just recently rebuilt in my shop from top to bottom and has not been used beyond testing since the rebuild work was completed. Every component of the jointer and original cast iron stand was disassembled and inspected. Parts to be painted were sand blasted, epoxy primered, and then painted in gloss gray premium automotive urethane lacquer. Mechanical components, jointer fasteners, and hardware items black oxide plated before reassembly for increased corrosion protection. The jointer cutter head bearings are new. The knives are all new and have been set true. The original Westinghouse 1/2 hp induction motor, as provided by Delta, was reconditioned, painted, and relabeled with a Delta reproduction decal. The original cast iron shaft protector is in place on the exposed end of the motor. The 12/3 SO power cord and Levitan 115V plug are new. The v-belt is new. The jointer's top surfaces and fence are rust and blemish free. The sliding surfaces have been scotch-brited and lightly oiled for corrosion protection. The depth adjustment mechanisms for both front and rear table halves work perfectly. The fence adjustments work freely and smooth. The hand cranks and knobs were powder coated in silver. The spring return cutter head guard was glass beaded and works perfectly. The jointer sets on a rare Delta Model 667 cast iron stand. The cast iron stand is in perfect condition, with no rust, cracks, or defects. The stand is complete with the cast iron upper pulley guard. The rare slotted head bolts that secure the cast iron stand sides are all new. The motor mount plate and adjustment system is all original, but fully reconditioned with new paint and hardware. The two piece die cast switch box is original, but has been totally reconditioned and painted to match. The switch is a new commercial grade Pass-Seymour toggle switch that has been modified to correctly fit the Delta switch box. A bolt-on stainless steel cord hook has been added near the switch box. The dust chute is in great condition. Everything on this jointer and cast iron stand works perfectly, as it should. All of this machine is as good, if not better, than when new. Copies of the original Delta jointer's operator's manual and the cast base parts manual are included with this machine. This rare vintage woodworking machine is now in pristine condition and ready to be put into service with absolutely no additional effort or work. The jointer can be seen under power in Freeland, MI. I am also currently listing the matching totally restored vintage 1948 Delta Unisaw that is shown in the photo next to the jointer. The Unisaw is described in another of my eBay listings and is priced at $1025. Local pick up is preferred. However, for an additional $75.00 , I will securely crate the jointer and deliver to a local trucking terminal. The freight costs will need to be paid by the purchaser. The jointer is also being advertised locally and will sold to the first taker and immediately then removed from eBay. Payment by PayPal is preferred.
