Vintage Detroit Hardness Tester In Original Case W/instructions And Conversions

 Still in the original black case. Stainless steel ball in the tester. I see no model number on the tester. Printed inside the tester is says Detroit Hardness Tester, 17644 Mt. Elliott Ave., Detroit 12, Michigan. Clearly this was made before zip codes. Measures 9 1/2" in length and approx. 3 1/2" in width at the ends. Laid in are Directions for Using the Detroit Hardness Tester....7 numbered instructions. On the reverse side on the instructions are Approximate Conversion Numbers listed in 3 columns. Column headings are Rockwell "C", Scleroscope, and Brinell 10 mm Steel Ball. I have never used this and know nothing about it's use. It was given to me to list on ebay.
