Vintage Dietzgen Transit Level Model 6300 series, serial# 84499 with Case I do not know much about these except what I can check. My family used to survey when I was young but I never took up the trade. It has been stored in a closet for at least half a century. The base adjust up and down, the magnification adjusts, the lenses look to be in great condition and the piece has most of its original paint. The base of storage case is Die cast and top of case is I believe some fibered glass. The unit is heavy brass and steel. All adjust knobs turn freely and level and bubbles look in good working condition. Could use a good cleaning by a person with more knowledge of this piece. I hate to part with a family piece but it does me no good to keep and hope it is used and appreciated. ITEM IS VINTAGE AND VERY COLLECTABLE / USED These run from $120 to $400 EACH on internet and antique shops providing you can find one and this one is in collectable and WORKING shape!
