VINTAGE EARLY 1900`s TRIPLE DESKTOP OAK TRAYS by AUTOMATIC FILE and INDEX CO. The Automatic File and Index Co. opened in Green Bay Wisconsin in 1905 and I could find very little else about the Co. The dovetail tray construction and overall sturdiness after all these years give credit to their quality products. I found nothing to indicate they still exist as a business today. The bottom and middle tray open in both directions allowing an assistant to insert papers without disturbing the person behind the desk. 16" Deep by 10 1/2" Wide by 9 1/4" in Height. A good addition to an office/business history collection. ............................................... 3 of 4 bottoms of the two movable trays have come away, at the ends, from the box very slightly and is an easy fix. I chose not to touch them because most buyers would prefer to do this kind of simple repair. The only damage, and it is minimal is on the front/bottom cross member where the maker`s label is. The wood is beautiful as is the metal, both with the normal awesome patina of age. Dove tail joints are strong as is the overall structure. Please examine pictures.
