This meter was designed mainly to warn the wearer of high gamma exposure rates. The meter will chirp at a rate corresponding to a (low level gamma) radiation field’s intensity. These chirpers range in response frequency from 2 to 20 chirps/minute/mR/hour. Although this meter has been around for some time, the Geiger Muller (GM) tube in it is still functional, and it will put out a chirp at a rate relative to the intensity of the radiation field to which it is introduced.
