VINTAGE FORESRTY FIRE AXE~AX W/ HANDLE TRUE TEMPER KELLY WORKS Here I have up for auction is a extra heavy duty forestry fire fighters fire axe with a handle that is not the original but should work fine and also has the original wedge that came with the handle. The axe head is marked True Temper Kelly Works in large lettering, shows some of the original red paint these old fire axes were painted with, measures 5 inches wide at the blade edge, 12 1/4 inches from the blade edge to the pick end, handle measures 35 inches in length. The head is very heavy and thick and weighs nearly 5 1/2 lbs. Blade edge shows a tiny nick but with a little light sharpening, should come out fine, metal does show a little light pitting marks here and there but they are light. Nice bold logo, head is clean and ready for you to install the new old stock handle and wedge. This is a nice older fire axe to add to your firefighting tools or add to your vintage axe collection.
