Here is quite a Estate sale find for the artist! The Grumbracher name is quite sought after by artisans in many fields and this truly Vintage 1960's Model 286 Grumbracher easel made in France is certainly the artist choice when they surface on EBay! Portabilty and artistic class with aged brass hardware and tin lined trays to showcase your efforts. *This particular Easel unfolds to set up for painting and display merit but, an added BONUS on this discovery is that it once belonged to BILLIE COHEN who founded the Duncan Art Guild in Oklahoma! Billie Cohen's information including home address back then is printed along the top of the easel just under the leather carry handle which pinpoints the origin of this Grumbracher easel's former Artist! The easel is In original condition as found with small paint drops, wood wear and such and I have not attempted to even dust it but, it's still solid,sound and just as strong and displable for works like an heirloom easel of the Grumbracher quality it was made for.I also see a detailed list of Cohen's favorite oil paint colors added by him on another edge of the easel! These Grumbrachers can easily command $250-$400 hundered dollars when they surface. I would think this one with a bit of historical background should add volumes of appeal to it as well.
