DETAILED DESCRIPTION: Here is a rare find, an unused vintage Craftsman tools metal lathe cutoff tool & holder. As I am sure you know Craftsman sold their metal lathes and tooling under the Atlas name. This is a Right Hand Cuting-off toolholder with cutoff tool part No. 9-2200. Toolholder fits standard lantern style toolpost used on may lathes. I know these will fit my South Bend 9 Workshop (I was tempted to keep these and sell the ones I'm using because they're so much nicer but mine still work fine). It accepts a standard 0.600" X .090" (at top - they're tapered) cutoff tool. Width is 0.378”, height is 0.616”, length is about 5”. You're not going to see many of these in this condition again. Tool holder is in original box and looks used, there are no marks on top from it being held in a toolpost or any marks on the bolt which holds the tool. If they did use it they didn't tighten it enough to leave an impression. It is free of any rust or blemishes, darker areas in the pictures are dust which has accumulated on the oiled surfaces (I assume it's the original oil or grease on this). Cutter maybe shows some wear on one end or it's a crummy job of sharpening at the factory - I can't tell. If you can't touch up the edge of a lathe tool you probably shouldn't be buying these anyway. Box is worn, creased, etc from storage. Now buy this and go make some swarf! We try to offer our items as inexpensively as we can.
