Vintage Industrial Metal Bin early 20th C. American, vintage steel bin with handles. It measures 27.75" x 11" x 8" and weighs approximately 8 pounds. Most of the original dark brown paint has been worn off to reveal the buffed steel. The buffing has been done in a distinct, eye-catching pattern. Decorative in itself. What I most like about the bin is the raised oval logo on the side. The oval is 8.25" x 5.6". Inside the oval it reads: "The Sioux Steel Co.; Manufacturers of Steel Products; Sioux Falls, S.D." In the middle of the logo, between two bullets is the word "Sioux". Very faintly below you can make out "registered trademark". The logo is the one they originally used when they began the company. Sioux Steel was founded by Charles Rysdon in 1918. It is still in operation today, led by Charles' grandson, Phil. They specialize in farm equipment from huge grain silos to fencing and pens for cattle. . The bins are in very good condition with no dents or cracks.
