This piece has some age to it - it was made by the T.W. & C.B. Sheridan Co., manufacturers of bookbinding equipment. This company was active from the 1860s to the 1950s. The tabletop measures 47 1/2" L x 36 1/2" W x 30 1/2" H. There is a 1 1/2" wide (1 7/8" wide at the bottom) dovetail slot running perpendicular to the blade, presumably for a sliding guide, which is not included. The base measures 45 1/4" L x 33 5/8" W x 29 1/2" T - this machine could be perfect for a print shop or business, but the cast iron base could also be salvaged for use in any number of projects. There is a broken piece that appears to be part of a guard system - it is included with the item, however, there may be more pieces missing. The handle sticks out about 15" and the counterweight another 20" or so. Lastly, someone has added a hinged tabletop extension that is also included. The item is marked "J379" on the top of the cutter arm hinge.
