Vintage Lanier Edisette II dictating cassette recorder machine There are two ways to control activity on this unit: with the console controls and the controls on the  hand-held microphone: Console controls: Tested Rewind, Forward, Eject (stop tape & eject tape) - all work.  Not sure how the "Erase" button on the front of the unit works. Hand-held microphone: Tested record, play, and rewind - all work.  Hand-held mic can also act as a speaker, by moving the side switch on the console from "spkr" to "mic." Volume and tone knobs on front of unit control  those two functions. Tracking knob on the front, left side of console works. Not sure what the "conf / dict" switch on side of console does and how it works.   Not sure what the "speed" dial on the side of the unit does or how it works. Recording is done with the hand-held mic.  Upon testing, I got both clear recordings and recordings with what sounded like electronic feedback, competing with the sound of my recording.  In some cases, I heard only the feedback upon checking my recording.  Not sure why this is. Although a head set is shown in two of the photos, NO HEAD SET IS INCLUDED in this sale. Console is in good cosmetic condition, no chipped or broken plastic.  The plastic has yellowed with the passage of time.  Hand-held mic has yellowed to a lesser extent. This item is being sold as is, with no returns.
