For sale here is a vintage, excellent condition Mettler Toledo Model 2112 Produce Scale with Stand. This is the kind of free-standing scale you used to find in produce stands and grocery store produce departments all over America back in the 1960s, 1970s, and up into the 1980s. Works great, but the digital age applied to scale indicators pretty much put these great people-friendly tools out to pasture. Totally analog and mechanical, nothing digital about it; requires no electricity whatsoever to operate! Quite accurate -- we got this just for fun and looks to put by our big floor scale at our plastics recycling plant, but it works perfectly well and weighs accurately. We never used this for trade, as the cost and bother of calibration and annual certification was beyond our use needs and purposes. But if your pockets are deeper than ours and your weighing need/intended use is commercial rather than cosmetic in nature, then by all means go to it! Two-sided dial face, you can see weight from either side. Indicator moves clockwise on one side, counterclockwise on the other. Weigh with a friend or loved one across the scale from you, you can each see how much weight you have! Stand holds scale at perfect height for average sized shoppers. Stand also has bag holder hooks about hip-high. XXXX It doesn't get more retro-cool than this as scales go. Every time I look at this scale, it reminds me of childhood trips to the grocery with my mother to pre-weigh getting 5 lbs. of pears, 10 lbs of potatoes, etc. Don't miss your chance here now to grab your piece of a fading piece of the Americana landscape. “No abnormal wear and tear; better than normal condition given age. One of four ring attachment screws is missing on one side. There may be tiny skuff mark or really small dink here and there if you inspect really closely, but overall impression is nice nice nice! Dials are 4 notches apart from being smack-on, but this can be corrected easily if you take the time to remove the ring from one side, then reset the indicator hand.”
