Antique Early American Crafted, Monarch 20 Dial-A-Pricer Price Tags/Labs Machine Machine is from the 40's - 60's era. Back when all things were made well with pride & care taken. The machine is made of heavy-duty cast metal, painted in an industrial textured green color. Appears to be in functional working order excepting the inker is dry & will need to be reinked if wish to use. When the wooden handle is cranked around clockwise the adjustable printer keys come down to print the tag/label & pushes out another tag. The back side of the machine finds a door that opens & you insert your roll of pricing labels. I actually tried loading & unloading the remainder of the roll left inside & was able to do so quickly & easily without any issues.  The machine is marked on the base & underneath on bottom with "North Conway". I purchased this machine years back at an auction held in New Hampshire in a another town close by North Conway, NH.  The roll of lables found inside say only "Diamond" on them. Im not certain as to what this shop was, or where exactly in North Conway it was located at? As was obviously in use many years ago gone by. There is also a sticker lable found on the bottom side showing "Serviced by a Ken Doherty of Raymond, Maine" along with his address & phone number contact information.  He would've been an actual factory Rep. as the label has the Monarch Marking Systems logo & also reads "A Subsidiary of Pitney-Bowes". The machine has four rubber feet on bottom, so as to keep from sliding around when using & to not scratch up your counter top also. There is also a large handle on the side to help hold it up when lifting & moving the machine to where it would be used.  (All described above are depicted in the many pictures shown in this listing included).  I've had the machine sitting on a shelf in my shop & it makes for an interesting cool display piece, that always breaks the ice to open conversation with folks who see it sitting there & wish to know what it is. It would be a great item to display, or put into use for an antiques shop, or junk & collectables shop of sorts.  This is a very rare, uncommonly found item & a very cool interesting piece of early American made of the 40's to 60's era in time past. When things were built well & not made up of cheep plastics & cardboard pieces. That we now purchase all from China & other assorted third world countries!  This would make a great gift for the special someone on your list. A much cooler gift to give & receive than some cheaply made, worthless, catalog ordered item that holds no real meaning, or value! A real oddity & unique item indeed that would be fun & everyone will wish to look it over & want to play around with it! If one were to grow tired of it, it can easily be resold again to someone else who would enjoy having it. As it is truly a wonderful & unique early American antique piece of the past!      See all pics for best description.
