VINTAGE MONTGOMERY-WARD PORTABLE AIR COMPRESSOR BELT DRIVE I bought this unique little compressor at a farm auction about 20 years ago thinking I’d replace it as soon as I got my garage set up and plumbed for a new, high-output one.  Turns out I still use it off and on to pump the grand kids tires or blow a little dust off the bench.  The single piston, belt driven pump will get the tank pressure into the 60’s if you are not in a big hurry.  The muted huff & puff is a lot nicer to listen to than the racket that comes out of my stationary shop unit.  The electric motor is a Westinghouse 1/3 HP, 6.4 amp, 1725 RPM, 115V, 60 cycle.  It appears to be the original motor based on the matching paint.  Aside from the big decal saying “MONTGOMERY WARD U.S.A” there are no other markings or identification tags.  The electric cord and rubber air hose are still flexible and in good shape.  The wooden base with 4 casters makes it easy to roll around.  I have looked for a similar compressor on Ebay over the years, but have never found another one like this.  Not sure if that makes it a collectible, but it is a nice unique unit that also functions quite well.  The dimensions are 26” long x 24” high x 14” wide, and the tank volume is 3 gallons.  The shipping weight is 70 lbs, so if you are close enough to pick it up there is some money to be saved on freight. Now that my wife & I are both retired our downsizing has begun.  Please let me know if you have any questions or nedd any more pictures. Seller will be away from Dec 10 to Dec 18. Any purchases during that time will ship after return.
