Vintage No. 1173 Folding Lufkin Rule Co 36" Metal Machinist Tool Ruler appears to be made of a magnetic stainless steel,as it attracts a magnet marked No. 1173 16 The Lufkin Rule Co. Saginaw,Mich. Made in U.S.A. 36 inches long scribed in sixteenths other than wiping down withan oiled cloth,I have not attempted to clean this rule. It still shows some stains that may be removed - see the pictures. The joints are tight - they will support the whole rule completely unfolded and held with the joints parallel to vertical.
