This is an exceptional, early pipe vise from Prentiss Vise Co. of Watertown, N.Y. Prentiss was in operation from 1872-1948, in Watertown and Little Falls, N.Y., as well as Meriden, CT. This is a No. B pipe vise. When open, the vise is 15" tall to the handle, . Closed, the vise is 12" tall. The handle is 12" long. The pipe jaws will open up to approximately 3 1/2". The base is 6" wide x6 3/8" deep. It has (3) 1/2" diameter mounting holes to mount to a workbench. The vise hinge and hook moves freely . I left the screw dry, will need a little 3 in 1 oil on it at some point. Only one minor flaw in the T for the handle as seen in photo.  Has been sandblasted primed and painted. All hardware (nuts and bolts ) are original.  Its a nice piece of history that was worth a little refurbish time.   Bid with confidence, this would be a nice working vise or an interesting display piece for you. Please see all photos.
