Vintage Printer's Letterpress Type tray or drawer. 2/3 size case. Yankee Job Case Style. Ornate cast iron "Hamilton" handle. This drawer measures approximately 21 3/4" x 19 3/8". The handle adds another 11/16". The "legs" are about 2 3/4" so the drawer proper is about 16 5/8". Interior depth of the drawer is about 1" while the outside depth is 1 7/16" on the sides and back while the front is 2". Note: The dividers are about 3/4" tall. We can find no maker's mark on this drawer. Construction style matches Hamilton's and since it has a Hamilton handle we will call it a Hamilton drawer. The bottom is plywood. The outside surface of the bottom has separation and "blistering or "bubbles" (see next to last photo for detail). They will not interfere with the drawer hanging on a wall but if you want to repair them the wood is pliable and you can glue it down (we usually cut a slit in the wood with a utility knife and then glue, clamp or weigh the bubble flat for an overnight cure). There is a chip of wood missing out of the bottom rear of the left side frame board (see detail photo). The partitions are intact and have minor wear. We cleaned the outside of the frame with a damp cloth. We wiped the bottoms of 2 compartments (one on either side of the center divider in the 3rd row). See last photo for a comparison of wiped vs. "as found". Study the photos as the drawer you see is the drawer you get. Maybe just the drawer for your project. It has the potential of being a real showpiece. We priced it "special" since the bottom needs work but the drawer is in good shape otherwise. We suspect the face board is "knock your socks off" oak.
