Vintage Letterpress Type drawer. Ludlow Style Case. We can find no Maker's Mark on this drawer. NO Handle. There was a metal label holder mounted on the top of the right frame board. The board has been planed or routed down by about 1/8" to accommodate the holder. The label holder probably got pilfered by the same individual who took the handle. There is a latch in the rear of the right frame board. It has some surface rust. This drawer measures approximately 27 5/8" x 15 5/8". Interior depth of the drawer is about 1" while the outside depth is 1 3/8" on the sides and back while the front is 1 7/16". The "legs" are about 4 15/16" long. All of the compartments are about 1 5/16" wide (inside dimensions). The shorter ones are approximately 1 9/16" tall while the taller ones are about 2 7/16" tall. There are 49 compartments per section for a total of 98. The bottom is Plywood and is in good condition. The partitions are all there and in good shape. The drawer is solid structurally. We cleaned the face of the frame with wood cleaner. We cleaned two compartments (one on each side) with a cloth moistened with water. We did not spend much time on it so I am certain that with a little effort (and maybe some household cleaner) the plywood would look great. A gorgeous drawer for your collection if you don't have the type to fill it. Beautiful wood and a candidate for Re-Purposing. Study the photos carefully The drawer you see is the drawer you get!
