VINTAGE RARE CAST METAL REMOVABLE MOUNTABLE FLINT EKCO CRANK CAN OPENER WITH ORIGINAL TAG! In large hotel and busy restaurant kitchens everywhere there are dozens of large number 10 cans opened daily using a mountable/dis-mountable heavy duty can opener of this and similar types. This particular vintage design is difficult to find. The arm with the can opener has a bottom square that slips into a square receptacle which, in combination with gravity and the weight of the can being opened, effectively holds the arm firmly in place. The small base of the can opener is bolted tightly to the side of one of the stainless steel food prep counter tops so it cannot move, and remains in place when the can opener portion is put away in a drawer while not in use. I've worked with these can openers for over a dozen years and they're indispensable time and labor savers. All you need is a horizontal hole in your stainless steel prep counter (strong wood and some big washers would also work) and a long enough strong enough bolt with the right sized head to seat properly and the opener will work great. Needs a little cleaning - sorry, didn't notice that there was something on the blade - it has been wiped off. You can bring the small base piece to your favorite hardware store to find the right sized bolt as it's small enough to fit in your pocket.
