Vintage Roberts Numbering Machine-4 Digit Ratcheting Automatic Head-APAC Printer Product Details: Vintage Roberts Numbering Machine-4 Digit Ratcheting Automatic Head Removed from an APAC EKPT-3904 Photographic Printer. APAC American Photographic Appliance Corp, Greenfield, Mass. This numbering machine was mounted next to the printing plate and stamped a number on the print when the mechanism was actuated. Depressing the lever on the numbering machine advanced the number by 1 unit by ratcheting action. There is a removable ink pad at the base. There is a milled aluminum part at the bottom that was made for mounting this numbering machine to the printer which is removable and you can create your own mounting part to suit your needs. The first digit is a letter A-J. The last three digits are 0-9. Each character is about 3/16" tall. There are three other spaces for discs not used. Good working condition. The ink pad is very dry. The letters and numbers appear to be in good condition. I cleaned off some oxidation, but not so that it looks like new (more cleaning is needed if you want it to look that way. Nice little machine.
