This item is a vintage Square D Company Up / Down Switch. The backside casing is all metal- probably cast aluminum- a magnet doesn't stick. The cover with screws is metal-probably steel - a magnet sticks to that. The up/down buttons are a very hard plastic or Bakelite unsure of true composition- black with white writing. There is a metal tag attached at the top that shows the Class, type and Max Voltage and serial number? as well as the Square D Company name and Milwaukee, WIS USA. Numbers are as follows: Class: 9001 Max V: 600 AC DC Type: 8-42 and the number 236879 The item measures approximately 4.5" high and 2 and 5/8" across at the widest part and 2 and 3/8" deep including the buttons. It weighs approximate 1 and 1/4 lbs PRIOR to packing. I can tell you it was a working prop in a haunted house for over a decade and was working when removed when the house was dismantled 2 years ago. However, due to age now, it is untested since that time and I am selling it for parts/as is. Buyer must presume that it doesn't work since it has no wiring attached to it.
