Vintage USAF test equipment, placarded U.S.A.F... very cool. Used in the testing and development of the first guidance systems before being transferred to the engineering dept at Oregon State College.  Beautiful patina that the others don't have.... This one is solid wood and the dovetail woodwork is a nice touch, just the right amount of wear, it's fabulous. All others I've seen look like cheap veneer. The type of knobs and other markings indicate that his is a very early model. Date on the General Dynamics inspection sticker is in the 60s but the replacement battery tag tapped to the inside is 1958 (and that's nowhere near the original battery). Knob markings, wiring, and case construction place this in the mid 1930s to early 1940s.  (Update: I just noticed I took the photos while they were still a couple of globs of cobweb stuck to the side of the box. It was obviously wipe off and aren't some weird goo) Most of these have a very cheesy wood finish that feels like fake veneer. This one has just the right amount of wear and patina, it really looks pre-war.  I'm honestly on the fence about selling it because it displays so well. I hope it will go to someone who appreciates it.  If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask before purchasing.  Thanks for looking!
