Carefully preserved over the years, the shelter is in excellent condition for its age and comes enclosed in a heavy-duty, sealed plastic case that has never been opened. The canvas fanny pack features snap closures and includes instructions for use in an inside pocket under the flap. Happy collecting! With a unit identification stencil on the back reading "Gauley R.D; Monongahela NF" and "R-9" in the upper right corner on the front side, this vintage fire shelter is a true find. The words "USFS Forest Fire Shelter" are prominently printed in the middle of the front side, making it easily identifiable among other firefighting gear. This vintage USFS Forest Fire Shelter is a must-have for any serious collector or outdoor enthusiast. Manufactured by the Industrial Canvas Products Company in November of 1977, this silver fire shelter is an authentic piece of firefighting history. It comes complete with its original, international orange Anchor Industries, Inc. canvas fanny pack case.
