An Auction! For sale to the highest bidder is a: VINTAGE B & K CATHODE REJUVENATOR TESTER Model CRT-350 with Case, Instruction manual, and Permonite Tube Adaptor. All are in Very Good Pre-owned condition. FREE SHIPPING WITHIN THE UNITED STATES!! DESCRIPTION: This B & K Cathode Rejuvenator Tester is from the late 1950s or early 1960s. They used to use these to test the tubes that were ubiquitous in the home electronics of yesteryear. Televisions, Radios, amplifiers, and stand up classic arcade games. This one is designed to clean the tube of carbon and dust that has a tendency to build up over time with natural use. This build up causes colors to bleed, fade, and look like crap. The rejuvenation feature requires a very delicate approach and can destroy the tube if not done carefully. An extra load of energy is sent through the tube, fractionally more than it is designed to handle unt the built up particles causing the disruptions in performance are burned away. This stops bleeding and enhances colors on screens. This unit was still in service at a television and monitor repair shop as their go-to tube rejuvenator on video arcade games when the business folded and I purchased it from them in a going out of business sale. So it was tested and worked fine a couple of months ago. Since then it sat in storage until a few days ago I decided to post it. So I plugged it into the wall and the light came on again as it should. Tested and Working. The case is covered in faux leather that shows it's age after 65 years. “The CRT-350 Cathode Rejuvenator Tester is in overall good pre-owned condition. The simulated leather case is rough, as you can see in the pictures. The case does works fine however: It breaks down into 2 pieces, like it should, protects and carries the unit, and allows for portability with it's bake-o-lite handle but it isn't too pretty. The unit itself is in much better condition than the case. The electronics and wiring are sound and were still being used to test and rejuvenate tubes when I purchased it from an old TV repair shop that went out of business. The wall cord is not brittle and allows the unit to fire right up when plugged in. The Permonite tube adaptor which extends out of the unit to test tubes is in great shape and works fine. The instruction manual is complete, clear, and easy to understand. Please see images for more condition detail.”
