| “This is a very large gouge for wood carving. Blade from handle to cutting edge is about 7 7/16 inches long. Looks like a new handle was attached to the blade as the last couple letters of the name, steel and the circle with the 'B' inside is inside the handle. Has a couple metal wedges along each side of the neck of the blade that goes into the handle. These have made fine cracks inside the furrel and the largest one continues down the handle for about 3 inches before ending. Stamped on the neck of the blade is W. Butcher with Cast Steel beneath but only parts are legible. Very fine pits in spots on the blade. Needs sharpened for use. This is in great working condition. Please see photos.” |
